If I’m being honest, accessories are an incredibly easy thing to forget. I mean, we are half way through the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and I just started adding them to my cart this weekend. With all the buzz about the cardigans and boots, accessories are often overlooked. However, they have the ability to take your outfit from basic to bomb in seconds.

It’s not secret that I’ve been loving this structured pink bag from the sale. I think I’ve worn it with about 10 different outfits so far. I love it because it’s a subtle shade of this feminine color but also because the structure is amazing. This is not one of those bags that’s going to lose it’s shape in a month, 3 months, or even 5 years. I can’t tell you how many bags I’ve bought with high hopes, only to quickly see them sink into shapeless mounds which I then leave in the depths of my closet.

If you’re thinking you can’t rock a pink bag, I get that. I didn’t think I could either. Slowly becoming more a fan of this girly color, I bought this bag on a total whim. Since the color is subtle, you can pair it with neutrals – beige, white, black, and grey. The usual. However, I wanted to try going outside of my comfort zone so I took a stab at wearing it with this lavender jacket.

As Matt and I were shooting this outfit in River North, Chicago, a woman walked by and said to her companion that we must be shooting a fashion magazine. Swap out “fashion magazine” for “blog” and she was right! That was enough proof that even adding one accessory can turn your every day outfit into something people on the street think belongs in a professional publication! Mission accomplished!

This was the inspiration for today’s post! I wanted to break down my favorite accessories from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale by category because it’s so overwhelming to scroll through them all at the same time. I’ve scrolled through about 10 times just to make sure I’ve gotten everything I think is good! So let’s jump to it!

BAGS

Starting with an easy one, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is a great opportunity to stock up on a great everyday bag for the upcoming season. This Madewell tote is my highest selling bag this year and I agree because it’s so easy to incorporate into any outfit. Plus, it’s a tote so it can hold everything you need it to, even a laptop! If it’s a little out of your price range, try this $36 one with a braided handle. I was also really happy to see a bunch of Rebecca Minkoff options back in this year’s sale! Their bags always have the best quality and are so on trend from satchels to backpacks.

JEWELRY

There is a ton of variety this year in the sale! I love the affordable options like statement earrings under $40 and all the Kendra Scott jewelry. I purchased a bunch of the Nadri jewelry for myself because it’s simple and classic. Like this crossover ring, these bangles in every color, and this floating gem necklace. If you’re looking for a gift for someone really special (guys, listen up!), I’d recommend Bony Levy. Matt actually just got me my first piece earlier this month for our second anniversary. Their jewelry is stunning!

WATCHES

These are an item that I’m starting to get (back) into. I love how chic watches are not to mention I love knowing the time. If you’ve been lusting over a Michele watch, there are 2 that really caught my eye here and here (love the white!). I also like this Kate Spade watch for a little more of an affordable option with a Michele feel!

SCARVES

I don’t know about you but I live in scarves for 7 months of the year now that we moved to Chicago! My coworkers made so much fun of me last year! But in an over air-conditioned office and during the frigid cold, they are so critical to survival! I think the houndstooth pattern on this $19 scarf is gorgeous. I also love that this chic cashmere wrap is in the sale (I can totally see myself wearing this decades from now)! My two favorites though are by Madewell (I own both this one and this one).

SUNGLASSESS

Probably my favorite accessory! Sunnies are hard to buy online but I’ve always had great luck with Quay flattering my face. I spotted these $35 pink sunnies and had to place another order last night! They come in 3 colors if pink isn’t your thing too!

Even a simple ring or diamond stud will make it look like you put 10x the effort into your outfit that you actually did.
