ATHLETA CLOTHING OUTFIT DETAILS:
Up for Anything Tights | Tie Back Tank Top | Sports Bra
Continuing my New Year’s resolutions, you may have noticed I’ve been trying some new workout routines in Athleta clothing. The best part of a new year is a chance to refresh. Athleta is doing an Up for Anything Challenge in January and I’m participating!
The Up for Anything Challenge is all about trying new things and getting outside your comfort zone. While I love Pure Barre, it wasn’t having the same impact after doing it for 5 years! So my girlfriend and I tried two new things here in Chicago. We put ourselves to the test and got to wear the Athleta Up for Anything tights while doing it! Yes, Athleta even made a pair of pants for this challenge!
As you guys saw on Instagram, my friend and I tried Orange Theory Fitness first. So many of you guys had only the best things to say about OTF! Thank you for the tips! If I had to describe it, I love/hate it. I loved how different the workout is but it was hard too! My favorite part of the class was the heart rate monitor. I love metrics like that. I think it’s a genius way to track how many calories people are burning. There is also a board in the class that shows everyone’s stats while they are doing the class.
We took a power class so it was 5-ish minutes of running followed by various lifting exercises. It wasn’t crazy complicated and I was definitely sweating a lot. I’m usually a sweater but doing the same workouts over and over doesn’t really get me to that level anymore. Thank goodness we were both wearing tank tops! We wore this white one (I love the open back). I feel like the heart rate monitor really motivated me to keep pushing harder!
We weren’t allowed to take photos during class because it messes with the Bluetooth required for the heart rate monitors so I just grabbed a shot of the screen after class. It was so interesting to have the staff explain the numbers to us. While they said we did a great job, I loved hearing you guys help me dissect it in more detail on Instagram.
The second thing we did was a personal training session in the gym. I don’t know about you, but I’m always intimidated by the weight section in the gym. It’s always full of guys and to be honest, I don’t have any idea what I’m doing! We did a lot of body weight exercises and learned how to use some of the equipment in the gym. I liked that there were also a lot of body-weight exercises so we could do them anywhere. I also feel like lifting is so helpful for toning!
Now, about the clothing. I was first introduced to Athleta last year. I’m always skeptical of new brands because I’ve had bad luck in the past. Not that anything is wrong with them, just that they (usually the pants), aren’t great. However, Athleta’s Stealth Tight blew me away. To this day they are still my favorite pant.
The Athleta Up for Anything pant also didn’t disappoint. They didn’t hug as much as the Stealth tight because they were designed for more activities. However, the material was lightweight with their Sculptek technology. There were also 4 pockets in the pants which I love. I often carry my cell phone in the pocket on my leg when I’m going to and from the gym. Both pairs of Athleta pants have this pocket!
Another pair of pants that I’ve tried by Athleta lately are their Restore Joggers. Let me tell you, these are the best pair of joggers I have ever tried. While I wouldn’t wear them to workout, I wore them for a week straight around the house when I first got them. We did laundry this past weekend and they survived! I was worried they would fade too much or lose their shape but I have to say, I’ve been really impressed with how well these 3 pairs of Athleta have held up!
The tie back tank tops we are wearing in our gym workout are also great pieces. It comes in a bunch of colors (13, to be exact) and 3 of them are on sale! I’m usually more of a fitted tank girl but didn’t mind the change. I also usually like tops that have built in bras (less things to remember), but the sports bras we wore were also great quality.
Have you guys tried any Athleta clothing? Have you tried a new workout routine in 2018?
