Black Fit and Flare Dress | Beige Suede Pumps (the most comfortable and on clearance!) | Leather Satchel | Tortoise Sunglasses | Gold Hoops | Lipstick in Salt Lyfe
For the first Monday of the April dress series, it felt fitting to post something related to my day job. As I roll out of bed to my laptop for the xth time in the last year, I find myself missing my OOTDs and going back into the office. It gave me an excuse to dress up, try new things, and have a little fun. My OOTDs held me accountable to look more put together and that’s why I loved sharing them with you here (browse for inspiration!). If you haven’t been around since the days of OOTDs, I essentially shared the outfit I wore every day to the office. I have a corporate job that is usually business casual but if you’ve been following on Instagram, you know I’ve been loving the athleisure that WFH allows.
When I was planning ‘A Dress A Day’, I knew I wanted to get back to my roots a little. I love vacation dresses but I know a lot of my readers are struggling to find good work pieces that will last. This black CeCe dress is a great example of something timeless. The fabric doesn’t fade (I also have this skirt which is a welcomed change from the pencil skirt) and it fits like a dream. I love the simple bow at the neck. If you’re looking for a bold color, check out the other options here. CeCe makes some incredible businesswear options at great price points and I consistently find myself shopping with the brand. They truly never disappoint.
Having been a corporate employee for over a decade, I’ve tested so many business casual outfits! That is why I wrote this post on the 8 wardrobe essentials for every career professional. Whether you are headed to a business meeting or a work conference, let me share some outfit ideas. Here are some of my favorite brands! The easiest way to accessorize is to add your favorite pair of pumps.
For work pumps, these suede low heel pumps are the absolute best. After we were burglarized last year, these were one of the first items I replaced in every color they had available in my size. I had gotten so much wear out of mine that I knew, no matter how long before we went back to the office, they would get plenty of use in the future. They are on major clearance now as well. The lower heels makes them incredible comfortable for standing during business meetings or even commuting between meetings. They run TTS and the D’Orsay cut really serves to elongate your legs. They are a tried and true favorite.
I talked about this bag designer in yesterday’s post and it’s perfect timing that the next day, I share this taupe satchel. This satchel was a newer addition (picked up in 2020) since I haven’t been going to the office. I love their structured totes because they fit everything I needed including carrying my laptop to and from work. However, I also love the satchel for all it’s pockets and versatility in ways of wear. The Cuyana bags are incredible quality and I prefer them to the traditional designer bags.
If you’re looking for more work outfit inspiration, keep following along with ‘A Dress A Day’! You can follow along on the blog, on Instagram, on Facebook, or on Pinterest. It seems that quite a few of you are on the hunt for interview dresses so that is coming next Monday! Any other business events you have coming up?
