When it comes to lululemon, you just cannot beat the quality. I still have pieces in my closet from 10 years ago that have held up incredibly well. Meaning, the cost per wear or CPW is significantly lower than any Internet “look for less” which usually doesn’t even last a year. While I generally love everything they make, there are things that I buy in multiple colors because they are simply, the best. Here is my list of best lululemon pieces that I find to be most wearable, most stylish and most comfortable! They’re classic styles too that I know I’ll still wear in 10 years!
If you see a style you love, make sure to click through for the colors! lululemon links often show up a little weird!
1. All the Right Places Crop
The All the Right Places Crop are my favorite leggings of all time. I have them in every color and I have 2 pairs of black. They’re made of the luxtreme so it is not the buttery fabric of the Align Pant but instead, a sweat wicking fabric that dries quickly and actually holds you in. Like really holds you in. It is a performance fabric but is isn’t abrasive at all. This also makes them great for cardio. If I’m going out in public, I feel most comfortable in these. They truly shape your legs and booty and I find them to be hands down, the most flattering lululemon legging. I have never seen any of my leggings unravel where my thighs touch as this fabric and design is extremely well crafted with extra seams. They also have pockets which I constantly use for my phone, keys, masks, or anything else I need to carry around. Sizing is true to size – I wear a 6.
2. Cates Tee
The Cates Tee is a relatively new style for me as I discovered it only a year ago. I’ve since repurchased in 3 colors, making a total of 4. As someone who historically looks terrible in boxy tees, the cropped design of the Cates Tee is an enigma. I know a lot of you have said the same! The fabrics are extremely lightweight and you still have the coverage of a t-shirt without the extra fabric overlapping the top of your leggings. Therefore, I find this to be not only incredibly easy to style but also very functional for working out so you don’t overheat. If you enjoy outdoor runs, this also keeps your shoulders covered so you don’t get sunburned. I like the camo and cut out fabrics but they also have solids here! This cut and style is very versatile when it comes to sizing – you can get anything from a size up or 2 sizes down. I have my normal size 6 in one and ultimately reordered the next 3 in a size 4 because I wanted a little less fabric in the waist (I have a more hourglass shape).
This top will not show your midriff if you’re wearing high waist leggings and up to one size down! It will only show if you size down, have a disproportionally long torso, AND raise your arms slightly (this is me)!
3. Ebb to Train Bra
The Ebb to Train Bra is the most comfortable bra lululemon makes. If you’re looking to forego cute strappy backs, this one literally feels like a cloud for your upper body. It doesn’t cut in anywhere and the wide straps provide light to medium support. There are a bunch of cute new colors! It is commonly available in a C-DD cup but you can size down one size if that isn’t you. I am a B cup and originally ordered my regular size 6 but on my second bra sized down to a 4. Both work perfectly fine!
4. Energy Long Line Bra
For the lovers of a strappy back, I hear you. I love them too. This is my favorite strappy lululemon sports bra. I personally enjoy the longer length which gives me the option to wear without a shirt (should I ever feel bold). It also pairs perfectly under the Cates Tee. The straps are thick enough to not get uncomfortable during your workout and there are a reasonable number of them so you don’t find yourself constantly untangling. There are a bunch of more cute prints and colors here. This bra has medium support and runs true to size (I wear a 6 as a 34B).
5. The Define Jacket
The lululemon Define Jacket is the best all purpose jacket. The first is incredible as it’s flattering and functional (with thumb holes!). It comes without a hood (this is what I have) and with a hood as well. It’s great for an outdoor run in winter or grabbing as you run out the door. I use to wear this under my puffer coat in Chicago so that after class, my sweat wasn’t making direct contact with my puffer. These jackets can easily go through the wash, just remember to hang dry. The zipper is also a more functional sports zipper so it holds up better with time and is smoother on the zip. You can also wear this with normal outfits as it doesn’t look too sporty. I also appreciate the optical illusion of the faint lululemon logo as I find it to be figure flattering. I have the heathered grey, black, and pink. I find that I can wear both an 8 (normal size) and a 6 in this jacket.
6. Wunder Under Leggings
The Wunder Under leggings are my second favorite style. I prefer the full-on luxtreme fabric for the same reasons I like the All the Right Places crop. It dries quickly, it doesn’t pick up any lint, and holds you in well. The All the Right Places crop doesn’t come in any of the fun lululemon prints so when I want a print, I look to the Wunder Under leggings. There are also different colors and lululemon is consistently adding new ones as well as different lengths available. Depending on your personal preference or body type, the Wunder Under might make more sense for you. Rest assured, they are still wonderful leggings as they still made my top 10! I usually order true to size (size 6) and I like the 25″ length the best. There are always a bunch of lengths and colors on sale so make sure to check out the Wunder Under leggings on sale here!
Let me address the Align leggings because I know they are a fan favorite! Depending on what you are looking for, they may be better for you! If you are doing yoga or even just lounging on the couch, the Align leggings are great. In fact, they’re probably the most popular lululemon legging because they are the most comfortable. I have a couple pairs of Aligns but they usually aren’t the first pair I reach for. I personally don’t feel as comfortable or supported in the fabric as it stretches more. They’re truly made for yoga so they have that buttery soft nulu fabric that every other brand has tried to copy (unsuccessfully!). This fabric does tent to pick up more lint which is another reason I prefer the luxtreme. However, I have heard women can wear these all the way through pregnancy, only having to size up one size, and I feel like that is another great use case for them! I usually size down one size in the Align leggings to compensate for the stretch.
7. Swiftly Tech Short Sleeve 2.0 Tee
The fabric of the Swiftly Tech Tee is tough to beat. It’s incredibly comfortable and soft even when wet so you can remain chafe free. It’s breathable as well so you don’t overheat during a workout and comes in a long list of colors. They consistently launch new colors and the second generation of this tee is seamless. I personally love the white, grey, and black but the new spring colors are tempting. Again, I love how the lululemon logo lies on the body and the slim fit design as I feel it’s more flattering than most workout tees. If you aren’t comfortable in a cropped fit like the Cates Yee. this is hands down the way to go. In fact, I feel like a mix of both the Swiftly Tech Short Sleeve Tee and the Cates tee is ideal. I usually wear a size 6.
8. Swiftly Tech Long Sleeve 2.0 Tee
The long sleeve version of the above had to make the list too. It is an outstanding winter or evening workout tee. It has all the same lovable things as the short sleeve version plus thumb holes! I think the white is my favorite color but again, it comes in quite a few. If you tend to have things run right in your arm, size up. I am most comfortable in a size 8!
9. Align Tank
This is the most simple style of tank and it is my most loved. It’s an absolute classic. Made for yoga and barre, I love the built in bra because it’s only one thing to grab when I’m getting ready. Plus, no worrying about matching my sports bra to top. The nulu fabric is great for performance and holds up well. This is a great top to have in black and white because it will always be an option for any color legging you get. I usually size up to a size 8!
10. The Reversible Mat 5mm
For anyone who does yoga or is currently working out at home, the lululemon yoga mats are a dream. I prefer the 5mm width because I have bad knees so when I’m doing Pure Barre workouts, I find it more comfortable. The marbled texture is really beautiful and it’s something you won’t mind having curled up in the corner of your home once your workout is done for the day. They’re easy to wipe clean and also are wonderful under a Peloton to keep your floors preserved.
Admittedly, it was hard to limit this list to 10. I really put thought and analysis into the lululemon items that I use the most. If you’re curious about what my next 5 items would be, I’ll list them here because they are literally so close to the top 10. After these next five, I feel like my other favorites are more novelty focused or are discontinued!
- Power Pivot Tank (you can wear this backwards and forwards)
- Align Tank
- Align 8” Short (this is the perfect length)
- Uplifting Scrunchie
- Align Legging (like I said, this is the most popular lululemon legging and it is extremely comfortable!)
With almost all lululemon products, I find it best to wash and hang dry! You can tumble on low if needed but generally, this is the most effective way to keep your pieces lasting for upwards of a decade!
Note that if you’re ever unsatisfied with a product, I have found that lululemon is one of the most flexible with returns, store credit, or fixing pieces you love. I had ordered a final sale pair of leggings (I never shared them anywhere) that were actually see through and they gave me store credit which I was perfectly happy with. Another pair of leggings was slightly unraveling on the thigh after about 4 years and lululemon fixed it for free.
Matt swears by their Commission Slim pant for work and over a few years, the previous version stretched a little in the calf. He has not had this problem with the current version. The great thing about these pants is you can send them through the wash (no more dry cleaning!) and they look incredible. Matt even wore the black ones to a black tie wedding! I don’t know that most men would not notice the slight stretch but he likes his pants very slim and is a very picky dresser. He is in between sizes so we usually size down to compensate but for a couple pairs, the smaller size wasn’t available. A few years later, lululemon took them back and gave him full store credit! I know y’all are always looking for pieces for your guy so I’ve linked the ones he has in multiple colors below! Like me, we know what we like and when something is excellent quality, we rebuy! There are multiple colors of each!
I hope this post helps as a place to start our lululemon experience! These are my tried and true pieces that I would (and will!) but again and again. What are your favorite lululemon pieces?
Let me know what you think!
